About Us

Fourien Inc. is an Edmonton based startup where we develop microfluidic platforms for analytical measurements for life sciences. We develop micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) sensors, instrumentation, mechanics and software for user interfaces. We are developing various technologies, which will be used to perform diagnostics on human samples. Our products need expertise from multiple disciplines. Currently, we are in a need of a cleanroom engineer who can take a responsibility to manufacture our MEMS/microsystems sensors. If you are experienced and passionate for MEMS, sensors, micro/nanotechnology, you should apply for this post.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Masters or PhD degree in electrical engineering, engineering physics or a related field which can ensure sufficient knowledge and skills required by this position
  • Experience with MEMS layout design in LEdit, Cadence or KLayoutt
  • Experience with various cleanroom microfabrication tools and techniques such as photolithography, thin film deposition, wafer etching, CVD, PVD
  • Experience in COMSOL based MEMS designing and simulation would be an asset

About Us

Fourien Inc. is an Edmonton based startup where we develop microfluidics platforms for analytical measurements for life sciences. Currently, we are investing in R&D of a product which would be used to identify healthy and defected human cells in a tissue. The key components of the technology is non-invasive sensing based on radio waves. If you are passionate about RF engineering, microbiology, sensors and instrumentation, this position is for you. Being at a startup phase, we are flexible about many aspect of work but we do need an energetic an RF engineer who is willing to be a leader and take ownership in her/his role.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Masters or PhD degree in electrical engineering, engineering physics or a related field which can ensure sufficient knowledge and skills required by this position
  • COMSOL modeling of RF antennas and microfluidics is a key requirement
  • Demonstrable knowledge in RF based bio sensing, antenna design and development of analogue circuits for RF generation
  • Hands on experience in operating and troubleshooting key RF instrumentation such as VNAs, high speed oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, etc
  • Experience in schematic development, PCB design and development with skills in troubleshooting
  • Experience in Python and C# based programming would be considered an important asset
